The philosophy of the Upper Midwest Heartland Chapter of the International Transplant Nurses Society is based upon the commitment to delivering comprehensive health care of the highest standard. This commitment includes care and support of the patients and individuals important to the patient at any point along the health continuum. We provide this by offering a network of communications of practice, education, and research among professional nurses committed to transplant nursing.

Goals
Provide a communication network for professional nurses with a focus and commitment to transplantation
Provide a means of continuing education for professional nurses with a focus in transplant nursing.
Examine new trends in transplantation affecting patient care and the role of the transplant nurse.
Promote and support research in transplant nursing.
Distribute the results of scientific investigation among professionals interested in transplantation.
Foster an awareness of ongoing ethical considerations in procurement, donations, and recipient awareness.
Ensure the accomplishment of the proper and lawful purposes and objectives of the Society.
Membership
All local Chapter member MUST be an Active Member of International ITNS
Local chapter members do NOT have to be certified through the American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC)
Active member: any citizen who is licensed as a registered nurse in the United States. Active members are entitled to vote, hold office, and serve on committees.
Associate member: any licensed practical nurse, other health related professionals, or members of the transplant community. Associate members are entitled to serve on committees. They are not entitled to vote or hold office.
Local Chapter Membership Fees: $30.00 for all (new and renewal)
